Starter or Pro? How to Choose the Right BOS Afora Plan
Most single-shop owners need Starter. Some need Pro from day one. Five questions settle it.

The plan question is the last thing between a curious owner and a paying one, and it is easy to get wrong in both directions. Some owners pay for Pro because the screenshots look impressive, then use only what Starter already gives them. Others stay on Starter while running three branches, and spend their evenings adding up reports by hand.
This guide walks through the five questions that decide it. Everything here comes from what each plan includes today, so you can check any line against the pricing section on the homepage.
How To Do It
Starter is built for a single business. Pro supports up to 5 branches, each with its own report, plus a ranking that shows which branch is doing best. If you trade from one shop, one stall or one yard, this question points to Starter. If you have two to five locations and want to compare them, it points to Pro. More than five, or unlimited staff users, is an Enterprise conversation, and Enterprise is priced individually.
Both plans record what happened and send you insights. Only Pro looks forward, with 14 and 30 day cashflow forecasts and a daily business health score. A forecast earns its price when money moves in big lumps: a cement restock, school fees season, a festive-season stock build. If your week looks much like last week, a record plus daily briefing may be all you need.
Starter gives you a running list of who owes what, with debt reminders and low-stock alerts. Pro adds customer intelligence and debt profiling, which shows who spends the most, who owes the most and who pays late, and it adds automated debt collection reminders. If you have a handful of regular debtors, the Starter list is enough. If you carry dozens of accounts and want to know which ones are risky, Pro is built for that.
Starter exports the last 90 days to Excel. Pro exports all-time history. For sharing monthly numbers with an accountant, 90 days is usually plenty. If you want a full year of records in one file for tax time or a loan application, Pro's all-time export is the difference.
You do not have to decide today. The Free plan (75 free transactions every month, no card required) lets you see how recording by text, voice or Quick Action feels in your own business. It also has caps, such as 20 customers who owe you and 20 inventory items, so a shop with a long debtor list will outgrow it quickly. When you are ready, open Settings, choose Upgrade, pick Starter or Pro and pay through the Paystack or Flutterwave checkout. If you already know you will stay, paying yearly saves two months on either plan.
Common Mistakes
Buying Pro for features you will not open
Staying on Starter while running several branches
Judging the plan by the sample screens
Forgetting the yearly option
A fair rule of thumb: start on the Free plan, move to Starter when you want BOS Afora to keep running your daily records, and move to Pro when you open a second branch or when you catch yourself wishing you could see next month's cash before it arrives.
Switching later is part of the design. Plans are changed from Settings, so choosing Starter today does not lock you out of Pro tomorrow.
FAQ

What does Pro add over Starter?
Pro adds up to 5 branches with individual reports, branch performance ranking, a daily business health score, 14 and 30 day cashflow forecasts, customer intelligence and debt profiling, automated debt collection reminders and all-time export history.
How much do I save by paying yearly?
Starter is ₦40,000 a year instead of ₦48,000, and Pro is ₦100,000 a year instead of ₦120,000. Both work out to two months free.
